1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user's device, where they are stored and then re-transmitted to the same sites on the next visit. They may be "technical" (necessary for the website to function) or "profiling" (intended to build user profiles for advertising purposes).
2. What this website stores
This website uses technical cookies necessary for correct functionality and, subject to explicit consent, third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics) in an anonymized form to optimize the service. No profiling or advertising tracking cookies of any kind are used.
The following elements are stored on the user's device:
- darcadia-consent — Purpose: to remember the choice made through the banner. Type: strictly necessary (exempt from consent). Duration: 6 months, after which the choice expires and the banner is shown again, in line with the Italian Data Protection Authority's guidelines of 10 June 2021. Can be deleted by the user at any time. Origin: first party.
- Google Analytics Cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — Purpose: anonymized statistical tracking of site visits. Type: third-party analytics (active only after consent). Duration: up to 2 years. Origin: third party (Google Ireland Ltd.).
The consent state (darcadia-consent) is not a cookie and is never transmitted to our servers: it stays on the user's device.
3. Third parties
The website does not embed invasive third-party content (videos, maps, social widgets) and makes no call to any non-essential external service when the pages load initially. Typefaces are hosted directly on our own domain. Only the following parties are involved:
- Firebase Hosting (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) — provider of the infrastructure that serves the website. It processes technical data (including the IP address) in service logs, for security and delivery purposes. Privacy policy
- FormSubmit (Devro LABS, United States) — receives the contact-form data for the sole purpose of delivering the message to info@darcadia.it. It is involved only when the form is submitted, never during ordinary browsing. Privacy policy
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) — web analytics service that allows us to anonymously track user interaction with the site, active only with prior consent collected through the banner. Privacy policy
Apartment bookings take place on external portals (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com): only if the user clicks the relevant links are they redirected to third-party sites, which use their own cookies and have their own notices, for which the controller is not responsible.
4. Managing your preferences
On the first visit a banner is shown, allowing the user to accept or reject non-essential tools, with two buttons of equal prominence. The banner is not shown again on every visit: the choice is remembered for 6 months, after which it is requested again.
The choice can be changed at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page of the website: clicking it reopens the banner, so a new preference can be expressed.
It is also always possible to delete the data stored by this website (including the preference above) from your browser settings, in the section dedicated to privacy and site data (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others all provide dedicated sections).
